Lulu

October 6 th will be remembered as one of the hardest days of my life. We had to say goodbye to
my “Boo-boo,” Lulu, the best kitty her daddy could have asked for.

Lulu showed up on my doorstep and adopted me in September 12 years ago, and my life
forever changed. I was not allowed to have animals, but she crawled up in my lap and fell
asleep, and at that point I realized, I now had a cat. From that point on, she recognized the
sound of my truck and greeted me every day when I came home. From Oregon to California
and now Ohio, she made sure to let her daddy know she was happy every time she saw him.

Her sass, her attitude, her regal presence, or just her love of her dad made us smile every
single day. She made sure her dad was wrapped around her paw and she got anything she ever
wanted. She truly was the queen of her domain.
Because she was confident that she was truly the love of her daddy’s life, Lulu reluctantly
agreed to allow her daddy to have a human woman live in her house. She sometimes blessed
her with occasionally sitting on her lap (only when dad wasn’t home) and accepted that this
other human would be the food lady when dad wasn’t around.

Lulu was a wonderful big sister and helped raise a small kitten into a mini mountain lion. She
then tolerated a new kitten this past year and accepted his presence as long as he left her
alone.

Her favorite things (besides her daddy) include cardboard boxes (which she was allergic to),
temptations treats, eating plastic (which she would find despite our best efforts), her original
scratching post, plastic pull tabs from milk containers, exposing her belly like a Venus Fly Trap,
shredded parmesan cheese, lecturing her dad before he left for the day, and curling up between
her daddy’s legs when she wanted to be close to him.
Our lives together ended where it began – from curling up in my lap to being held in my arms as
we said goodbye. Lulu will be remembered every day for the love she showed me, the joy she
gave me and the attitude she bestowed upon all who encountered her.

Thank you, Lulu, for blessing me with 12 unbelievable years. I will see you again when I cross
the rainbow bridge.
