You had a beautiful way of knowing exactly when I needed comfort, silently resting your head on my lap without ever asking for anything in return but a gentle scratch behind the ears or a boop on the nose.

I will forever miss the sound of your paws clicking across the floor, your goofy excitement when it was time for a treat, and the pure devotion in your eyes. You taught me the true definition of unconditional love as a pet parent.

Even though your spot is empty at the bottom of the stairs, your spirit remains in every corner. Thank you for 10 1/2 years of absolute joy. You were more than a pet—you are a part of my heart.

My heart will forever wear the paw prints left by you.
