Brutus
Brutus ak.a “Bru-bru”
March 17, 2015 – March 23, 2026
Brutus came to us at six years old. Admittedly, if he had been ours from the beginning, he likely would have been named Shadow—our constant guardian and comfort.
He was eager to please and never wanted to be without attention. His greatest passion was eating, with what seemed boundless gusto. An unexpected bonus was life with a toddler, which only helped him refine his skills as a true connoisseur.
Despite being part lab, he avoided water, but that never stopped his love of walks, especially when deer scents were involved. He was always grateful to come along on road trips and was the best kind of travel companion.
He loved cuddles, belly rubs, and above all, simply being near his people. That alone was enough to make him content. Friends and family trusted him with their young children, knowing his gentle and kind disposition.
A true gentleman, he would always step off the couch to stand at attention for his dog mom—tail wagging, eyes bright, and smiling.
He set an impossible standard for dogs. We ache in his absence, and our home longs for him.
Our hearts are broken over the loss of our sweet boy, our gentle giant. The time with you will never feel like enough. We were lucky to be yours.
Rest easy, Brutus. You are forever ours.

Woody
