Cassie
Cassie came into our lives when we rescued her from our local animal shelter at
just one year old. She quickly became part of our family and spent the next 12
wonderful years growing alongside our other dog, filling our home with
unconditional love and loyalty. She passed away at the age of 13.
We adopted Cassie shortly after the heartbreaking loss of our 9 year old
daughter. During that unimaginable time, Cassie became a source of comfort and
healing for our son, who had been incredibly close to his sister. Their bond was
something truly special, and Cassie seemed to know exactly when he needed
her. Her quiet companionship, unwavering love, and gentle presence helped him
through the darkest days of our lives.
As the years passed, Cassie continued to be the most loving, faithful companion
anyone could ask for. She was there through life’s ups and downs, always
offering comfort, joy, and unconditional love. She wasn’t just our dog, she was
family.
Saying goodbye was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do, but we are
deeply grateful to Lauren, the veterinarian who came to our home through Kona’s
Loving Paws. Her warmth, kindness, and compassion made an incredibly painful
day just a little more bearable. She treated Cassie with such dignity and gave our
family the time and support we needed to say our final goodbyes. We will always
be thankful for the care she showed both Cassie and our family.
Cassie leaves behind a space in our hearts that can never be filled. We will miss
her every single day, but we are forever grateful for the love, comfort, and
beautiful memories she gave us over the past 12 years.
