Hank
Today, we said a painful goodbye to Hank.
We first saw his photo shared by Trumbull County in late March 2024. He looked so scared and sad—it broke our hearts. He was pulled shortly after, and our fostering journey began on April 4, 2024. What we didn’t know then was that Hank had already found his forever home.
Over the past 14 months, Hank formed an incredible bond with Ryan. The trust, loyalty, and love between them was something truly special. From day one, Hank chose Ryan as his person. As many of you know, Ryan lost his beloved mom in 2023—two years ago today. I truly believe Hank was sent to him for a reason. Ryan needed Hank, and Hank needed Ryan.
We spent the last weekend spoiling Hank with all his favorite treats (grilled chicken, salmon and steak, watermelon and Three Dog Bakery cookies). He spent a lot of time outside enjoying the weather, listening to the birds and hanging out on the patio.
Throughout his time with us, Hank saw many veterinarians. He was officially adopted by us in December, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped support his care.
Hank, our hearts are heavy. You were a gentle soul who brought love into our lives and touched many others along the way. We will honor your memory by continuing to advocate for senior dogs who are so often overlooked.
Although we only had you for 14 months, You were deeply loved, and you will be missed every day. Rest easy sweet boy.

PumpkinThank you so much for your service, kind words of comfort, and the candle for Pumpkin. Although there’s a space in our home and what feels like a part of our hearts missing, we know she’s at peace now. [dsm_icon_list list_layout="horizontal"...
Mali
MaliThis was Mali on our last day with us. I took her outside to feel the warmth of the sun one more time. I share this image because you can still see the smile on her face. A face that is still eager to play, even though she physically couldn't. A face looking for...
