Libby
Libby was diagnosed with a rare cancer 12 months ago. At diagnosis, the vets said her life expectancy was 3-9 months. My girl amazed me and the vets with how she surpassed that life expectancy and fought this illness with such force. I could go on about the immense sorrow and pain I’m in, but I would rather take this time to remember the things I love about her:
How she would rest her head on my arm as I drove. When she would dump over her toy basket and scatter toys all over the living room floor. How she laid in front of the bathtub everytime I showered. The way she fearlessly protected me. How she followed me around everywhere I went. When she would get excited and try to “eat my feet” or take my slippers off my feet. The way she greeted me at the door when I got home, then would follow me to the couch to lay on top of me and smother me with kisses. The way she was always up for a walk or an adventure outside. How she buried herself under the covers to sleep. The way she would play with a blueberry by throwing it in the air with her mouth before eating it. How she cuddled me constantly, and wanted me to hold her like a baby.
My sweet Libby got me through some of the hardest times in my life and nothing will ever replace the bond I had with her…she was my soulmate in this phase of life. I’ll see you in heaven one day, Libby Anne.
Love you always Libby,
Melissa
